Artistry & Activism

It’s hard to even put into words how we’re all feeling right now. We wanted to have that conversation, though. What does it mean to be an artist right now? What are our roles in pushing social change? What can we do and how do we make a difference?

Rilla Force, Lightfoot, Brandie Blaze, CakeSwagg, Dart Adams, Kadeem, and Pronzy talk about all these things and more in the above video. There is also a transcript below, if that medium is better for you.

This is only the beginning of the convo… Let us know if you’d like to be involved in future talks, other topics you’d like to hear discussed, or information we could help you find. And please share with anyone you think could benefit from viewing.

Be safe,

Sam

For the past two years we’ve sat down with Tim Larew, Dart Adams, and Bedlam to discuss the state of New England Hip-Hop. We’re back again this year to follow up on the goals we set, share new insights, and predict what’s coming for 2019.  If you haven’t heard last year’s we’d strongly suggest listening…and even if you have it’s worth revisiting. Year one is a good intro as well. We’ll be back next week with Latrell James, M-DOT, and Oompa to present the artists’ point of view.

This year, we returned with the same cast, minus Justice (he’ll be back soon), to see how we’ve done in the year since. If you haven’t heard the first one, we’d strongly suggest listening…and even if you have it’s worth revisiting. Gem after gem after gem. We’ll be back next week with the artists’ point of view.
