The Sixth Annual LFOD Alumni Cypher Series

LFOD Radio exists to provide a platform for independent voices in New England & beyond.

In addition to spinning records, we sit down for in-depth interviews with artists which are uploaded to Apple, Spotify, Google PlayStitcher, etc… You can also find them below.

We’re focused on building community amongst our collaborators, so artists often return for cypherslive shows, and more.

If you would like to help us achieve our goals while unlocking exclusive content, please join us on Patreon.

Tune-in every Tuesday at midnight on 91.5FM in Boston or stream right here.

Are you an artist? Are your friends? We want to share your art.

Interviews

LFOD Radio Ep. 115 (Featuring Block to Booth)

Block To Booth is on a mission to revolutionize the studio service experience by bringing it right to your front door. We met Sensei Swagg & Umazi at MECon 2018, where they first told us about their vision. It’s been dope watching it evolve since then, growing to include a web series and promotional platform for artists as well. With Season One filming this weekend, the timing was right to bring them in for a conversation. We also learned a bit about their individual backgrounds: Sensei’s adventures as a Brooklyn kid learning to rap, Umazi’s experience as an international activist, and how their two paths brought them together. The positive energy these two radiate is contagious…

LFOD Radio Ep. 114 (Featuring REKS and Shortfyuz)

REKS & Shortfyuz are dropping Order in Chaos this Friday, September 14th. The two of them called in from Logan Airport on their way to tour Europe. This was our fourth convo with REKS, so we built off the previous ones and got a bit deeper into his mentality when it comes to moving through the music biz. We also got a preview of what’s to come on their new album, followed up on The Greatest X, and heard why they still hold Scientifik in such high regard. Catch them in a city near you this fall.

Welcome to Season V!!! Teya, Tashawn, and Sam are back to kick the season off with Du-Karan, fresh off the release of his new album, 9. The album explores new ground both sonically and emotionally so we dove into the motivations behind that shift, as well as the hazards of living with expectations. Though this is his first solo podcast, longtime listeners will remember Du-Karan from previous live appearances and for his role in launching our #ExtraBars series.

We’re joined this week by Dé Von. Long time listeners will remember his production on the 2016 Alumni Cypher but he’s evolved quite a bit since then, producing and singing with a style of his own. Crazy talented, and it’s been great watching his transformation into the artist he is today. We also recapped a dope weekend of events, heard about his plans for the future, and discussed a wide range of musical influences.
