LFOD Radio 8.24.21 – Hoop Hop Cypher!

We were at Hoop-Hop this weekend with the mobile stu – First time at an event & it went well! Solar panels were pulling over 400 watts as we powered the DJ booth & then we hosted our cypher as well. Huge shoutout to Bakari JB & everyone involved in making this year another success.

We’ve got the audio from our cypher in this week’s mix, along with some new Boston hip-hop and a few West Coast artists we met out in LA. Seems like we’ll be traveling quite a bit going forward. Got somewhere you want us to pull up?

Stay tuned for the cypher videos and be sure to run last week’s #LFODMix from Deejay Dex back if you haven’t yet. We’ll be live again next Tuesday at 10pm, both streaming right here and on 91.5FM in Boston.

LFOD Radio Ep. 96 – The State of New England Hip-Hop (Pt. II)

For Part II of the State of New England Hip-Hop 2017, we heard from a few of our favorite artists. Both Latrell James and M-DOT were a part of last year’s discussion, and this year we brought Oompa into the mix as well. All three of them have been making major moves, so it was great to hear their views on the scene, as well as their response to Bedlam, Tim, and Dart’s discussion last week.

The future is bright.

M-Dot just dropped his debut album, Ego and the Enemy. It may be his debut but he’s approaching veteran status, having paid dues around the world the last 8+ years. He called in from NYC to talk about the project, what it took to put it out, and the crazy response so far.

In Part I we heard from prominent players on the business side of the New England Hip-Hop scene. This time we checked in with a few of our favorite artists – Latrell James, Lotus Taylor, and M-Dot. Each of them has a unique story, but when it comes down to it you’ll find that a few key similarities in approach have gotten them where they are today.

LFOD Radio Ep. 59 (Featuring M-Dot)

What can we say about M-Dot? He’s a force of nature. He tells time by album releases. He’s made music around the world, but he’s hungrier than ever. And he’s getting ready to release his magnum opus…
