REWIND! We’re swinging the spotlight back to one of our guests from last year, Rilla Force. He is the originator of RNBDM, a great guy, and a damn good DJ as well. We’ve got a few of our own selections leading off the show before he takes it away. Big week for Boston hip-hop!
Most of these records reached us via submissions or word of mouth, so if there’s someone we need to get in the mix, let us know! Comments work or Twitter/Instagram.
ENERGY – That’s the theme for this week’s show. These are some of our favorite records of the last six months or so… Make sure you tap in with these artists! They’re tagged on our Twitter & Instagram. A lot of these records have videos too; we’ll be sharing those in this week’s newsletter.
This is also the first mix from the van!! Put in the floors this week and a bit of insulation, so thought it was worth a go. Sounds pretty good already… can’t wait ’til we’ve got the walls up and fully treated for sound.
We’ll be live again next Tuesday at 10pm, both streaming right here and on 91.5FM in Boston.
Straight submissions this week! Shoutout to all the artists sending us records. We never quite know what we’re gonna get. This week ya’ll were feeling the melodies. Maybe next mix we’ll hit ’em with the bars? I know there’s a few artists on our radar that are rapping rapping.
If you’re curious about having more success with submissions in general, we just dropped a video breaking down the science. Follow those tips and you’ll do well.
If you missed DJ Manipulator last week or Candy Raine, or DJ STIX, or Jeff 2Timez… you can run their mixes back right here along with quite a few others.
Tap in with us on Twitter/Instagram & let us know what how you’re feeling! Or drop a comment below.
We’re back next Tuesday at 10pm on 91.5FM in Boston & streaming right here.
Earlier this month, we asked ya’ll who your favorite DJ was and a whole lot of folks said DJ STIX… So being that LFOD is a platform of and for the people, we’re proud to present to you our newest #LFODMix featuring the man himself.
We’re gonna be doing these more and more frequently, so if there’s someone you want to hear either comment below or hit us on Twitter/Instagram.
We hit a new milestone, so going forward we’ll be sharing these off-air convos with ya’ll. First up is Gio Dee.
How this works: We record our interviews in 10-12 minute segments. In between, the mics stay on and catch all sorts of chatter. Sometimes it’s related to the interview, sometimes it’s industry chat, and other times it’s A-Ball dreaming of a hair & makeup budget. You never know what you’re gonna get…
We’ll clean it up a bit, select the most entertaining bits and upload that here. It’s almost like you’re in the room with us…
Shoutout Phive 6 for signing up yesterday and kicking this all off.
Gio Dee is back. But where’s he been? We talked about what he’s been up to the past few years, the new music he’s been dropping throughout 2019, and the album that’s on the way. We also dug up some gems from the Never Going Back days, spoke about his influence on Boston hip-hop, and a whole lot more. Are you ready?
