LFOD Radio 12.14.21 – Submissions #LFODMix

Shoutout to all the artists sending us music! Really happy with the mixes we’re able to put together over here. We’re back at it with a submissions #LFODMix this week, straight from our inbox to your eardrums.

If you missed DJ E Dubble last week, you’re gonna want to run that back as well. And then you might as well listen to our DJ Beanz mix, our BMA playlist… We’re starting to build up a bit of a catalogue.

We’ve also been dropping new episodes of STAMPED every week, where we share some of our favorite submissions. The series is brand new, but really like where it is going already. Episode 2 embedded below.

We’ll be live again next Tuesday at 10pm, both streaming right here and on 91.5FM in Boston.

#24in24 – 24 Songs in 24 Hours by 24 Artists

Tomorrow marks the four year anniversary of #24in24‘s release. The album itself was created on March 25, 2017, when we invited 24 of our favorite artists to record 24 songs in 24 hours at The Bridge Sound & Stage in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

If this is your first time hearing about the album or you’d like to revisit some of the standout tracks, press play on the mix below. We’ve also sprinkled in some commentary from the artists involved. It truly was an incredible day.

One thing we keep hearing from artists is that we’re overdue for another. What do you think? Let us know below or on Twitter/Instagram. We’re always here for the conversation.

Our Top Shares of 2020

Cakeswagg

Cakeswagg has been lit all 2020, dropping bars every Tuesday for her fans. Tap-in.

We’ve been sharing more music than ever this year. We’re on the radio every week dropping new mixes, we tapped in with artists across the country for Season VI of the LFOD Radio podcast, and we launched our submissions form to make it easy for ya’ll to send us your art. When we say ya’ll, we mean artists, fans, and everyone in between. It’s been dope connecting with so many different people this year.

When we hear/see something, we say something! We do most of our sharing on Twitter and Facebook where we can post links, but there’s some gems on our Instagram as well.

We looked back through the analytics and put together this list of our audience’s favorites from January through November 2020. Some of these may be brand new to you, others could be welcome reminders… It’s been a wild year – not easy to keep track of all that’s happened.

Let us know what you think! And if you’ve got something you’d like us to share, we’re here for it!

And now the music… No particular order.

Caliph – Jog Your Memory/Melanin

Alex Place popped up in one of our IG Lives with his laptop and brought this one to our attention. Dope video. Caliph did his thing on the new SuperSmashBroz record as well.

K.A.A.N. – The Escape

K.A.A.N. (Knowledge Above All Nonsense) popped onto our radar heavy this year. We shared a few of his videos, but this was your favorite!

Open Mike Eagle – I’m a JoeStar

Not gonna front like we knew what a JoeStar was before this hit our inbox, but a lot of ya’ll definitely did and we have a much better idea now. From Open Mike Eagle‘s Anime , Trauma, and Divorce.

The 2019 Alumni Cypher

#AlumniCypher

We just wrapped up our annual Alumni Cypher Series and it was one of the best yet. The tradition is stronger than ever. For the fifth straight year, we invited all of our past guests back to rhyme live on-air with their fellow MCs. We had a different group each Tuesday in July & they all brought the heat!

None of this would have been possible without participation from the thriving artistic community in New England, which includes not only vocal artists, but the producers, graphic designers, photographers, and filmmakers behind the scenes, as well as the institutions that support them and create spaces and opportunities to thrive.

This year’s cyphers are brought to you by the Table Manners DJs & Wreck Shop Movement. Once again, the Beat Club Podcast has provided us with the beats. Producers, get hip to them if you haven’t.

Last but certainly not least, we’d like to thank all our patrons for rocking with us! If you’d like to learn more about that, head over here. There’s exclusive cypher footage and audio…

Listen to the full podcast here or get right to the rhymes below.

LFOD Radio Ep. 114 (Featuring REKS and Shortfyuz)

REKS & Shortfyuz are dropping Order in Chaos this Friday, September 14th. The two of them called in from Logan Airport on their way to tour Europe. This was our fourth convo with REKS, so we built off the previous ones and got a bit deeper into his mentality when it comes to moving through the music biz. We also got a preview of what’s to come on their new album, followed up on The Greatest X, and heard why they still hold Scientifik in such high regard. Catch them in a city near you this fall.

Listen below or on your favorite podcast app, whether that’s Apple, Spotify, Google Play, Stitcher, etc… We also broadcast every Monday at 9am on 91.5FM in Boston.

New episodes every Tuesday. Subscribe to get them right away.

LFOD Radio Ep. 90 (Featuring ST. da Squad)
